Friday’s feast 196

Appetizer: When was the last time you had your hair cut/trimmed?

Last Thursday I had a bit of a mop chop to lighten my hair for summer.  My hair is very heavy.  It’s like wearing a hair hat!

Soup: Name one thing you miss about being a child.

My flexibility.  I used to do gymnastics and I could do laps of front and back walkovers around my yard.

Salad: Pick one: butter, margarine, olive oil.

What am I cooking?  I can’t answer this question unless I know what I’m making.  Probably not margarine though unless I’m inviting Dre and Sarah.

Main Course: If you could learn another language, which one would you pick, and why?

I’d like to learn German.  I took a couple intro courses in German back in the day and have retained very little of it.  It’s a fascinating language, though thanks to FI I apparently speak it with a French accent.  I’d also really like to speak Japanese, if only a little, because I would eventually like to visit Japan.

Dessert: Finish this sentence: In 5 years I expect to be…

… able to wrangle a free trip to France for Scott.  I love visiting the battlefields, but it’s something I really want to share with people.  I should organize a trip that if people want to go, let’s go.  Normandy in 2010?  Could be cool.  Normandy, Paris, Vimy Ridge, Brussels (that’s Jenn bait, there)…

Appetizer : If you could live on another continent for 1 year, which one would you choose?

You know, I think I’d pick Asia next time.  I’d really love to experience Japan.

Soup: Which browser do you use to surf the Internet?

Sigh.  Internet Explorer, and not by my own choice.  If it were up to me I’d be a Firefox girl – and I was.

Salad: On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you know about the history of your country?

I’d say an 8.  I’m not so good with the histories of our various first nations peoples, and my knowledge of the far North is pretty sketchy.  Having said that, when it comes to the History of southern Canada (especially since Confederation) my knowledge is quite solid.

Main Course: Finish this sentence:  Love is…

What you want it to be.

Dessert: Have you ever been in or near a tornado?

No, that’s one of the benefits of living in a coastal region – it’s far more temperate.  Though I understand there may have been a small tornado near Woodstock this month.

Appetizer: When you drink soda/pop/coke, do you prefer to drink it from the bottle, a can, or after pouring it into a cup?

Either.  I’m not particular.  It’s handier to have an individual sized unit though.

Soup: What television show are you willing to stay up late to watch?

Heroes, would watch Lost, Battlestar Galactica.  Most of those I don’t get straight away anymore.

Salad: Name one person, place, or thing you think of as brilliant.

Vimy Ridge is brilliant.

Main Course: Would you be willing to work 4 10-hour days instead of 5 8-hour days in order to save gas?

Would I have three-day weekends every weekend?  Hell yeah.  Also, I usually work 10 hours anyway, by the time you factor in prepwork and marking.

Dessert: If you were a superhero, what would you call yourself?

Memory Girl

Appetizer: What is the nearest big city to your home?

Really big city?  Boston.

Soup: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets?

Probably a 5.

Salad: Describe your hair (color, texture, length).

Bobbed, currently just below my chin.  Very very thick, with thick individual strands.  Naturally red, some blonde highlights that have been growing out over the year.

Main Course: What kind of driver are you?  Courteous?  Aggressive?  Slow?

Well, I cut my teeth driving in France. :)   I have a lead foot, I admit it.

Dessert: When was the last time you had a really bad week?

Oh, I dunno.  I have a lot of stressful weeks but are they really bad?  Not really.

Appetizer: What was your favourite cartoon when you were a child?

I loved watching Voltron, and the Smurfs.  I really liked the Smurfs.  Les Schtroumpfs!

Soup: Pretend you are about to get a new pet.  Which animal would you pick, and what would you name it?

I’d get another cat, probably.  And then it would get fat.  I don’t know what it would be named, but I can guarantee it would be pretty nerdy.

Salad: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy getting all dressed up for a special occasion?

About an 8.  I enjoy a fancy dress party.

Main Course: What kind of music do you listen to while you drive?

Whatever’s in the car.  Mostly alternative pop.

Dessert: When was the last time you bought a clock?  And in which room did you put it?

I honestly can’t recall the last time I bought a clock.  I have recently been considering purchasing one for my classroom.
